Future Democrat voters: “The Migration Policy Institute (MPI) found the legislation could grant amnesty to roughly 4.4 million illegal aliens of the 11 to 15 million aliens living illegally in the United States…”
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released an analysis last Thursday which found that one of the Democrats’ latest amnesty bills, The American Dream and Promise Act, would cost $35 billion over the next decade.
The Dream and Promise Act recently passed through the House would grant amnesty to several million illegal immigrants that allegedly illegally crossed the border as children. The legislation would also deliver green cards to hundreds of thousands of foreigners who were given Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure status.
The Migration Policy Institute (MPI) found the legislation could grant amnesty to roughly 4.4 million illegal aliens of the 11 to 15 million aliens living illegally in the United States, reports Breitbart News.
Democrats, and some Republicans, voted for the legislation as roughly 17 million Americans remain unemployed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The legislation passed through the House Thursday evening with 228 votes in favor of the bill and 197 votes against it, even as approximately 17 million Americans remain unemployed. Nine House Republicans voted in favor of the Democrat amnesty bill.
The lone House Democrat to support American workers and vote against Amnesty during a jobs crisis was Jared Golden (D-Maine).
The nine House Republicans who voted to reward illegal immigration and expand Chain Migration in the upswing of what could be the worst border surge in recent history were: David Valadao (R-Calif.), Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.), Maria Salazar (R-Fla.), Fred Upton (R-Mich.), Don Bacon (R-Neb.), Chris Smith (R-N.J.), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Penn.), and Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.).
According to Breitbart, the CBO – a nonpartisan organization, found that the primary cost of the amnesty would come from:
Illegal immigrants obtaining eligibility for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Medicaid tax credits, eligibility for the earned income and child tax credits, and eligibility for Social Security. In contrast, the federal government would only receive slight revenues from migrants receiving lawful permanent resident (LPR) status by charging them corporate income and Medicare taxes and the non-refundable portion of tax credits for health insurance.
Overall, the Dream and Promise Act would cost $42.48 billion and bring in revenues of $7.15 billion, meaning it would cost $35 billion by 2031.
