Is this “racist?” – Latino Community Fund (LCF Georgia) membership is restricted

May 12, 2021 By D.A. King

Corporate-funded Georgia group joins discredited SPLC in lawsuit against Georgia’s 2021 election reform law

Is this “racist?” Isn’t this what was regarded as “restricted” in the old America?

To be a considered as a possible member group in the Latino Community Fund in Atlanta (Decatur) the requirements are built around being Hispanic/Latino. It seems exclusionary.

The below is from the “Members and Partners” page on the LTC website.

“Membership in the Latino Community Fund (LCF Georgia) is open to Latino community organizations and nonprofits 501(c)(3), 501 (c)(5) and 501(c)(6) in the state of Georgia providing direct programs and services in the areas of health, education, immigration, civic engagement, advocacy, economic empowerment, and arts and culture.

Associate membership is also open to specific programs of nonprofits 100% led, advised, and serving Latinos. Projects and initiatives led by these programs may also receive programmatic grant funding.

Organizations interested in membership, need to fill out this survey and meet two out of the three following criteria:

– Be Latino-led (Executive Director or CEO)
– Be governed by a majority Latino board of directors
– Serve a majority Latino client population”

Note, if an aspiring collective can only meet one of the above ethnocentric requirements they can apply to become a “partner.”

Think of these characters as a collective of anti-enforcement collectives – including GALEO Inc. See for yourself.

Gigi Pedraza. Photo, LCF

We noted the LCF Georgia several years ago when their leader, Gigi Pedraza, had an anti-enforcement guest column in a liberal Atlanta news outlet. Pedraza is apparently still working on abolishing Georgia’s E-Verify law which often sees compliance but seldom sees media coverage.

A July, 2019 Insider Advantage Georgia entry:

“From the “that’s pretty much the point” department: Georgia’s E-Verify law represents a challenge for illegal aliens who want to open a business and be more visible in Georgia. This critical analysis comes from the executive director and founder of an ethnic-based Decatur group headed by Gigi Pedraza.

The post is worth a read to see what she gets wrong.

The Latino Community Fund is sponsored by many of the usual corporate suspects in grievance organizing  – Coca Cola, Georgia Power, Wells Fargo, Univision, Tides Foundation, the discredited SPLC, Delta airlines, Telemundo et al. You can see a full list on the bottom of this page.

Board Director? – Rudy Beserra, former VP of Latin Affairs for the Coca-Cola Company.

Related: Defending Coca Cola.

To round out the education on the (restricted) Latino Community Fund in Georgia, it helps to know that the group has joined the hate mongers at the Southern Poverty Law Center in a lawsuit against Georgia’s 2021 election law.

MEDIA WATCH

For honest, pro-enforcement Americans, much of the Main Stream Media (MSM) are the enemy

There are those who say that pro-enforcement patriots should accept and ignore the endless flow of dishonest and agenda-driven goop on immigration that pours out of the liberal media. We are not in that group.

Perhaps the most intentionally inaccurate reporting trick from most of the MSM is the contrived and intentionally confusing use of the terms “immigrant” and “immigration” when the topic is illegal aliens and illegal immigration. We do not ignore that deceit.

This page will be gradually and constantly constructed and updated. For now, we direct readers to two of the many corrections we have had to send to the Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper over the years here and here.

Also, a link that goes to our partial tracking of the work of the AJC. We will continue illustrating that newspaper’s biased and slanted reporting on illegal immigration and pro-enforcement Americans as time allows. This endeavor could easily involve an entire website and a full time job for several people.

We will get to the Associated Press and the news outlets – including Atlanta TV and radio stations that blindly republish and broadcast their ridiculous anti-enforcement “news” stories that strive to confuse readers about immigrants and illegal aliens soon. Here is just one example.

We will also begin an entire course on what many regard as the hate-mongering scammers at the discredited and disgraced Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

Much more coming…

If America Must Be Shut Down, So Must Its Guest Worker Programs – American Thinker

If America Must Be Shut Down, So Must Its Guest Worker Programs

By Dale L. Wilcox

America-Firsters were both perplexed and furious for most of last week as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appeared to be going ahead with its early March announcement to expand the H-2B unskilled guest-worker program to over 100,000 slots a year. With unemployment-benefit applications for March coming in at over 10 million, the last time the job market looked this bad—the Great Depression of the 1930s—immigration authorities sought to help, not hinder, the American worker by creating the nation’s first-ever illegal-alien-removal program.

Late last week, however, due in part to activist pressures, DHS’s interim secretary, Chad Wolf, announced the increase would be paused “due to present economic circumstances.” It was a minor bit of respite for working Americans who were already struggling going into this crippling downturn.

The H-2B guest-worker visa was created in 1986 as part of a congressional law that provided amnesty to over 3 million illegal aliens. Because that law also included a promise to finally put an end to illegal-alien hiring, businesses complaining of impending “worker shortages” were able to secure the right to import temporary foreign workers for a slew of low-skilled industries, including cattle farming, landscaping and hospitality. Agribusiness got its separate, far larger “H-2A” program for farmworkers. Nearly 35 years on, however, the problem of illegal labor is bigger than ever, and H-2B-using businesses still complain about worker shortages.

The H-2B is one area where anti-borders groups and pro-American worker groups like mine actually come together on. Organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Economic Policy Institute, and the AFL-CIO all rightly criticize the program for being a modified version of colonial-era bonded servitude, due to workers’ visas being tied to their employers, their inability to unionize, and their wages and benefits being well below normal market expectations.

It is certainly not outlandish to call programs like the H-2B, the H-2A, and its Big Tech cousin, the H-1B, throwbacks to the time when European peasants came here as indentured laborers. America has devolved back to its pre-independence days of immigrant-serf labor before.

According to venerable U.S. historians Charles and Mary Beard, in their 1930 book The Rise of American Civilization, the Immigration Act of 1864 was “an extraordinary law which gave federal authorization to the importation of working people under terms of contract analogous to the indentured servitude of colonial times.”

Key to their assessment was a section of the law in which emigrants first had to pledge up to a year of their wages to pay for their transportation, in effect, bonding them to their employer. Due to the public’s outrage (even Russia had abolished its serf system by this point), it was repealed four years later. However, the practice still went on for many decades, say the Beards, with “companies [being] organized to supply employers with European labor in any quantity, anywhere, at any time.”

When it was initially announced as part of the Republican Party’s platform four years earlier (when Lincoln won the party ticket), the Beards described members both in- and outside the party as being in total shock. Pushing a policy that took the country back to the days of British colonial-era serfdom was only made possible, say the Beards, by a D.C. institution that was just then coming into its own: corporate lobbying… Read the rest here.

We are sorry to inform you that D.A. King, President and founder of the Dustin Inman Society, has left us.

Donald (“D.A.”) Arthur King, 1 April 1952 – 5 March 2025.

D.A. King left this life and his work for the nation that he loved, confident that he has done his best. D.A. passed on peacefully after a private battle with cancer.

“Once a Marine, always a Marine” – D.A. was always visibly proud of his service and his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps (1970-1976).

D.A. described himself as “pro-enforcement” on immigration and borders, an issue on which he dedicated the last 21 years of his life as an expert activist, writer and public speaker.
