Cobb Sheriff’s office, please send me copies of any and all intake/booking documents and records relative to the incarceration of – Santos Rosalio Vicente-Ramos who was arrested June 23, 2022 according to media reports. Please include all records that indicate compliance with OCGA 42-4-14.

The driver of a car that crashed on State Route 316 near Lawrenceville early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of two passengers, is facing vehicular homicide charges.
Christian Velasquez, 23, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu east on the highway when it ran off the road and hit an overhead sign post and a guardrail near Sugarloaf Parkway just before 6 a.m., Gwinnett police Cpl. Collin Flynn said.
The vehicle rolled after it hit the post and guardrail, causing two passengers to die at the scene.
“Investigators from the department’s Accident Investigation Unit also responded to the scene and took over the crash investigation,” Flynn said.
Velasquez, whose residency information is not listed in jail records, was taken to a local hospital. After he was released, however, he was arrested on the two counts of homicide by vehicle in the 1st degree, DUI, possession of methamphetamine, driving without a valid license and reckless driving.
The names of the victims have not yet been released by police.
Anyone who has information about the crash is asked to call detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. They can also visit www.stopcrimeATL.com. There is a cash reward offered by Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.

According to the newspaper, the liberal AJC’s poll of 902 likely voters was conducted by the University of Georgia’s School of Policy and International Affairs July 14-22 and has a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points. It is featured on today’s front page.

Related: State law (OCGA 42-4-14) requires all jailers to use reasonable effort to check immigration status of prisoners and to report illegal aliens to DHS. That law is widely ignored by Georgia’s powerful county sheriffs. Two metro-Atlanta Democrat sheriffs publicly boast that they defy the law. Georgia media (examples here and here) – including the liberal AJC – refuse to publicize the existence of the law or the related admissions of defiance by the sheriffs.

Mexico City residents aren’t happy with Americans that have moved to their city and made things more expensive, demanding they leave, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.
A growing number of Americans from areas like Silicon Valley and Brooklyn, New York, have flocked to the city, taking advantage of its beauty and cheap rent, according to the LA Times. “We’re the only brown people. We’re the only people speaking Spanish except the waiters,” writer and university professor Fernando Bustos Gorozpe, 28, said, according to the LA Times.
“We’re just seeing Americans flooding in. It’s people who maybe have their own business, or maybe they’re thinking of starting some consulting or freelance work. They don’t even know how long they’re going to stay. They’re completely picking up their entire lives and just moving down here,” The head of Welcome Home Mexico, an organization that helps with relocation, Alexandra Demou said, adding that she gets 50 calls a week from people considering making the move, the LA Times reported.
A local business owner who moved to Mexico City, Dan Defossey, recognized that “Mexico is not cheap for Mexicans.”
“Americans can come here, and they can afford everything and live like kings and queens,” Defossey told the LA Times.
“I came for a new set of possibilities for how I experience my life and what I get to create in it. I feel like this city has everything I need to build a life of creativity, connection, adventure and stability,” Sarah Lupton, 35, who’s from North Carolina said, according to the LA Times.
