Illegal immigration in Georgia: Cobb County GOP censures Gov Brian Kemp – #BigTruckTrick cited

October 3, 2021 By D.A. King

2019 DIS reminder on Kemp campaign promises

We are happy but somewhat confused  to report that the Cobb GOP has censured Republican Gov. Kemp for his abject defiance on illegal immigration campaign promises.

Above: Brian Kemp’s first 2018 TV campaign ad.

“Rebuke” and/or “censure”- tomato/tomahtoe. It looks like it has happened twice?

In late May we were sent a Cobb County GOP resolution “rebuking” Gov Brian Kemp on his refusal to honor (or even mention) his detailed 2018 campaign promises on illegal immigration. At least the criminal alien part of illegal immigration. We were happy to see that it matched the draft language we created in April and distributed to various pro-enforcement Republicans around the state.

Now we are told that yesterday the Cobb Republicans voted for a Kemp censure and that it included what appears to be the same language as above. We have not seen a copy of the Cobb documents. Apparently the Marietta Daily Journal has seen them. Below is part of their news (paywall) report. I do not subscribe. Many thanks to John L for sending it over.

Cobb County GOP censures Gov. Kemp as former party chair resigns

By Jon Gillooly jgillooly@mdjonline.com Oct 1, 2021

Former Cobb County GOP Chairman Jason Shepherd has resigned from the county committee of the Cobb Republican Party after it passed several resolutions this week, one of which censured Gov. Brian Kemp.

Cobb GOP Chair Salleigh Grubbs said the party approved three resolutions at its committee meeting Thursday night at Marietta City Hall.

One resolution censured Kemp for failing to carry out campaign promises concerning illegal immigration. Grubbs said the resolution outlines Kemp’s campaign promises of addressing sanctuary cities, creating a registry of criminal aliens and a track and deport plan.

“And (Kemp) has consistently said, ‘I’ve got a big truck in case I need to round up criminal illegals and take them home myself,’” Grubbs said. “So the resolution portion of it says that Gov. Brian Kemp be censured for his failure to keep his campaign promises and meet his obligations to end illegal immigration in the state of Georgia.”
A second resolution calls on Kemp to prohibit vaccine passports, while asking the Georgia Legislature to prevent businesses from requiring documentation about an individual’s vaccination status. The idea, Grubbs said, is to prevent organizations such as Wellstar Health System from firing staff who refuse to adhere to its vaccine mandate.

A third resolution calls for a statewide forensic audit and criminal investigation into the 2020 and January 2021 elections.

Shepherd, who was not present at the meeting due to a teaching engagement, said he was represented by proxy, and his proxy voted against the resolution condemning Kemp.

Shepherd said the Kemp resolution came up during the GOP’s county convention earlier this year when it was brought by the chair of the party’s resolution committee, Michael Opitz. Shepherd said he shot it down at that time because party rules prohibit censuring someone who is not a member of the county committee. Kemp is not a member.

Yet Grubbs believes the resolution is legitimate.

“There is nothing in the county rules that prohibit censuring. What he’s talking about is a parliamentary issue and I think it’s more to do with interpretation. There is nothing in the county rules that prohibit that resolution that was passed,” she said…”

The entire MDJ report is here. I can see it in full from the (MDJ-owned) Rome Tribune here.

Image: Cobb GOP

Former Cobb GOP Chairman Shepherd is quoted further in the MDJ report defending Kemp against the election related charges. We see nothing from Shepherd about the illegal immigration matter. It should be noted that when Shepherd was Cobb GOP Chairman, illegal immigration was not allowed to be “an issue.” We noted that several times including here.

We also note that while we have been warning Republicans that Kemp risks losing in 2022 because of what we refer to as his #BigTruckTrick in 2018 we are not alone in the warning. Here is a letter to Kemp from a retired senior immigration agent and GOP voter in Coastal Georgia. Here is much of our Brian Kemp file.

The Dustin Inman Society has been reminding voters about Kemp’s betrayal on illegal immigration for years. As was noted by National Review, we tried to warn people about the dollar-first, Chamber of Commerce alliance reality during the 2018 campaign.

Kemp is also in hot water with many Republicans for his position on Afghans who piled on U.S. military airplanes leaving Afghanistan.

DIS is not focused on or involved in the ongoing dispute over the 2020 election.

Democrat candidate for GA Sec of State Bee Nguyen’s bill to document “the undocumented” *Updated

September 12, 2021 By D.A. King

Rep Bee Nguyen

No Republican sponsors for driver’s cards and state ID to illegal aliens bill yet

_____

*Update July 5, 2022: Nguyen has also staked out her position on immigration enforcement.

“A Georgia Democratic nominee repeatedly called to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and argued that carrying out the country’s immigration laws is rooted in “white supremacy” and “xenophobia.”

Washington Free Beacon, Judy 5, 2022

“This Georgia Dem Wants To Abolish ICE and ‘Shut Down’ Illegal Immigrant Detention Centers

Bee Nguyen called immigration enforcement agency ‘rogue,’ ‘cruel’ – read the full story HERE.

______

Democrat Rep and candidate for Secretary of State Bee Nguyen (“Access, Equity, Efficiency”) wants to give drivers licenses (“Driver’s Cards”) and state ID cards to Georgia’s estimated 400,000-ish illegal aliens. That’s the goal of her HB 833, that was introduced three days before the end of the 2021 legislative session. The measure would include commercial driver’s licenses (“Drivers Cards”) for the illegals. Yes, it is still illegal to employ illegal aliens. Nguyen calls it the “Freedom to Drive Act.”

Bee Nguyen’s bill is so ridiculous that we assume it is more of a campaign maneuver than a serious attempt at legislative success. The illegal alien lobby loves it. The Georgia Budget and Policy Institute loves it. The liberal Atlanta Journal Constitution loves it and is carrying out an aggressive sales campaign. The Georgia Chamber of Commerce loves it – but quietly. So far, the bill has no Republican cosponsors.

In today’s “new Georgia” a candidate to lead the state office that organizes and oversees all election activity, including voter registration and municipal, state, county, and federal elections is trying to document “the undocumented.” And she is willing to accept the unverifiable ID foreign governments give to illegal aliens as acceptable documents obtain that documentation. An example is the  Mexican matricula consular ID.

How insecure are the Mexican matricula consular cards? I have two of them.

In 2003 testimony titled “Consular ID Cards in a Post-9/11 World” the FBI told congress the matricula consular is “not a reliable form of identification.” Also in Nguyen’s bill is a provision to accept passports issued to illegal aliens by foreign governments after they cross our borders illegally and set up housekeeping in Georgia.

* Related reading: ‘The Half-Baked Immigration Response to 9/11’

Illegal aliens would also be allowed to bring in phone bills, rent receipts and deportation related papers to “prove” their identity and residence on applications for Bee Nguyen’s proposed new Georgia ID.

Nguyen and her cosponsors are apparently hoping to move Georgia closer to becoming the California of the east. We call it “Georgiafornia.” In 2004 Tennessee Democrats tried the “drivers cards” and ID to illegal aliens idea. They ended that adventure after two years and a federal investigation that exposed the extreme level of fraud, bribery and the fact that illegal aliens from other states were flocking to Tennessee to get “documented.” Georgia is already home to more illegal aliens than Arizona. Most of us don’t want to make it easier for them to vote.

In Bee Nguyen’s proposed change to state law, documents used by illegal aliens on the application for ID and driving credentials could not be used for a state criminal investigation unless there was an order by a federal judge. That includes the application itself.

This dangerous bill would be laughed out of a legislative committee in Mexico where illegal aliens have a zero chance of legally obtaining driving credentials. – It should be treated with even less seriousness here.

HB 833 text.

Sponsors: Nguyen, Bee ,  Schofield, Kim 60th , Lim, Marvin 99th , Park, Sam 101st, Marin, Pedro “Pete” 96th6 , Boddie, William 62nd

Rep. Bee Nguyen is going in the wrong direction. This is a clear effort to make Georgia even more illegal alien-friendly and to appeal to the far left. It’s an anti-enforcement immigration bill.

Nguyen’s bill expands on existing Republican policy

It is important to know that Republican-ruled Georgia already quietly issues drivers licenses and ID cards to about 20,000 illegal aliens who are DACA recipients. They are identical to the documents given to legal immigrants and guest workers and foreign students here on legal, temporary visas.

Pro-enforcement voters should be active in stopping Nguyen’s dangerous legislation.

There is a much better idea in the works

Update July 5, 2022: HB 228 described below was killed by GOP leadership in the Georgia House without ever seeing a committee vote.

Rep Charlice Byrd. Photo: Ga General Assembly

For additional voter and identification security, we direct attention to the pending HB 228 sponsored by Rep Charlice Byrd (R, Woodstock) which would mark all non-citizen driving and ID credentials, with “BEARER NOT U.S.CITIZEN – NOT FOR VOTING PURPOSES.”

Amazingly, Rep Byrd’s common sense bill did not come out of the House ‘Committee on Election Integrity’ in the 2021 session. It is still alive for 2022, but faces baseless and ill-informed resistance from the Republican leadership.

Georgians concerned about election integrity should be pressing for passage of Byrd’s bill.

Jake Evans, Republican candidate for GA-06 makes it clear immigration (and looming Democrat amnesty attempt) is not a campaign issue

July 16, 2021 By D.A. King

Jake Evans email 14 July 2021

Updated.

Why do you think we call it  #Georgiafornia?

At least one Republican candidate to re-take the congressional seat in Georgia’s 6th District has obviously decided that immigration, borders, enforcement, amnesty, American workers and the Biden regime’s intake of a reported million or so illegal aliens in about six months is not a campaign issue.

We give you Jake Evans. He will likely continue to advance in Georgia Republican politics.

Below is a transcript of the July 13, 2021 Erick Erickson radio interview (S10 EP116 HOUR 3) with Republican Jake Evans who had officially announced his candidacy for Congress, GA- 06 the same day. Evans sent out an email announcement the next morning boasting of a one-day collection of $100,000 in campaign collections. Jake Evans is the son of the influential Georgia Republican shaker and mover, Randy Evans.

Law.com Daily Report:

“After serving as U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg since 2018, trial lawyer and Republican heavy-hitter Randy Evans is returning to full-time law practice as a partner at Squire Patton Boggs, where he will work from the firm’s Atlanta and Washington, D.C., offices.”

Please let us know if we overlooked any mention of immigration, Biden’s use of U.S. military to distribute future Democrat voters or that Republican-ruled Georgia is host to more illegal aliens than Arizona and more illegals than green card holders?

______

Update: July 20, 2021 6:25 AM.

Here is Jake Evans on the Martha Zoller Show, from July 16. Still no immigration/amnesty mention.

A Jake Evans, Atlanta Young Republican interview in the New Yorker, January, 2018 tells us he was a Marco Rubio supporter in the 2016 presidential primary.

Relevant and interesting from a June 21, 2018  NPR report “Young Republicans Aim To Attract Newcomers To The Party” (NICK CARLSON): “We don’t start with the Pledge of Allegiance or with a prayer or anything like that. It usually is just turn the music off, thanking them for coming.”

From the “not-exactly-a-shocker department,” Newt Gingrich has endorsed Jake Evans – with a video.

Erick Erickson (host)… [inaudible 00:00:00] conversationalists everywhere. It’s Erick Erickson here, the Erick Erickson Show from my flagship station, WSB in Atlanta, across the fruited plane. The phone number is (877) 97-ERICK, (877) 973-7425. So one of the most hotly contested congressional races in the United States of America is going to take place very close to where I am. The sixth congressional district of Georgia is a district that had been Republican. Uh, Jon Ossoff tried to take it several years ago, lost to Karen Handel in a special election. The Democrats captured it in 2018, and we’re barely able to hang onto it in 2020. Redistricting is upon us. Rumors are afoot, the district will be made a little more Republican. It’s the sort of seat Republicans have to take nationwide in order to beat Nancy Pelosi and take back the House of Representatives.

There are a number of people running in this seat. Uh, one of them announced today, Jake Evans, who joins me by phone. Welcome.

Jake Evans: Hi. Good to be here, Erick. Good to be here.

Erick Erickson: uh, uh, tell us, uh, first of all, I mean, the, the, the big picture here of why you’re running.

Jake Evans, absolutely. Uh, well, i- for those who don’t know me, my name is Jake Evans. I, I am very blessed to grow up in, in Georgia politics. Um, and this year I was very blessed to marry a beautiful bride. We got married in March. Uh, and as we are, we live in Cobb County, we look at the future, uh, we look at a very endangered America. We look at an America where Joe Biden is trying to make America like the rest of the world, like the socialist countries of the world, and we should be making Ameri- the rest of the world like America. Uh, and that is something that is very, very disturbing to me. I could stand by, but we’re not gonna stand by. It’s time to stand up and fight for the future of our country and for our children to have the opportunity to pursue the American dream, uh, just like we did.

Uh, and so I feel a calling, and it’s time to put myself forward in what will be a very difficult fight. As you said earlier, the sixth congressional district is a battleground district, but it is a district that is not represented by the proper person, and that is Lucy McBath, uh, who has consistently tried to erase our culture, our values, our American identity, said that we are inherently racist country, and that’s something that I don’t think anyone in the sixth district or more generally Americans, uh, should stand up for or put up with. And so, what I am going to do is I’m going to deliver a bold conservative value campaign about big ideas, uh, that sells to the American people and delivers to the American people.

And so I have generated what I call an acronym, which is SELL. Number one, security. Uh, we’ve got to protect domestic security, which is we need to s- protect, uh, our local law enforcement. National security, we need to support our troops abroad and we need to provide them, uh, with the supplies they need to keep us safe at home. And I, I will fully, uh, put forward, uh, Reagan’s motto, which is pe- peace by strength. And we need to protect our family, our communities. Families are the bedrock of the United States of America, and it’s something that we have to make sure our children are growing up in two person households, which is one of the number one indicators for success.

Uh, the E in SELL is for education. Uh, I’m a big proponent of free market principles, and we need to inject free market principles via school choice, and return the choice of schools to American families and away from the federal government, and we need to eradicate critical race theory, which divides children at four, five, six years old. It’s something that we can’t withstand, uh, to allow to go forward because we need a united America, united children because if we look at the aggressive China, and the, as they become more strengthened, our future generations have to be educated.

My first L is for liberty, economic liberty, personal liberty, religious liberty. We need to protect the liberties that this country was founded on. And last is L, limited government, limited regulation, limited government intrusion. These are the foundational principles which enable the United States of America to be the best country on earth, uh, that create create- creativity, uh, economic ingenuity, and that’s what distinguishes us from the rest of our peers. So, we have a very bold conservative big idea campaign, and we are fully prepared to what I say usher in the great contract to retake America.

Erick Erickson: Well, let me e- go back to something you said, uh, about Lucy McBath, and I don’t know that this in- uh, amazingly I think if a Republican had said something like this, it would be national news and we’d still be talking about it. But she was caught on tape off record speaking candidly, as all politicians do off the record, and said she did think that this country is founded in racism. I, I was-

Mm-hmm (affirmative).

… I, I’m kind of shocked that she said this at a donor group. I realize it’s what a lot of progressive think these days, but, uh, for her to say it as a candidate in that district is something.

Jake Evans: I, no you’re exactly right, Erick. Um, and, you know, what the liberals currently do is their only tool to invigorate their base, uh, and harm our base is divide and conquer, is to divide and conquer. And the way they do that is they consistently bring up race when race is not an issue. Uh, and her goal is she knows the only way she can beat the Republican party or a part- a party that consistently beats the Democrats on ideas, on policy, on results is to divide us. Uh, and we can’t succumb to that.

But the, the greatest country on earth is something that we have to protect. Uh, it’s something that we cannot and should not be ashamed of. Have we overcome adversity? Yes. But I will guarantee you, every individual at some point has made mistakes and they’ve overcame those mistakes and they’ve become better, and that’s exactly what this country has become and is today.

Erick Erickson: Now Jake, a, a, a lot of folks who run for Congress, uh, start talking about the national big picture stuff, but also all politics is local, and there are a lot of issues the sixth congressional district, for those listening, uh, who, who don’t know where it is, it’s the northern metro area of Atlanta, uh, it is, uh, an increasingly populated area. It, I think that area of the state now is listed as number eight in the nation for worst traffic. Uh, you’ve got, uh, a massive number of schools there, but some of which are going down the critical theory path.

Mm-hmm (affirmative).

I mean, uh, i- in the all politics is local thing, what, what do you see in the sixth congressional district as kind of the, the big issues that voters need to know?

Jake Evans: Mm-hmm (affirmative). The big issues are education, there’s crime. Uh, people move to the sixth congressional district, and as you just said, Erick, we’ve got east Cobb, some of the best schools in the state of Georgia, we’ve got north Fulton, some of the best schools in the state of Georgia, uh, and people move to east Cobb because they want to raise a family, and they want to raise a family in a safe suburb, uh, and we have to maintain that and work for the sixth district to, to maintain its distinguishing characteristics. And the, how do we do that? As I said earlier, security. We have to support our law enforcement with- with being a law, uh, a police officer is one of the hardest jobs that exist. You are putting your life on the line.

Jake Evans: , my, my cousin is actually- actually a deputy sheriff and I was talking to him about this back whenever all the BLM stuff was going on. And he gave me a great analogy, which kind of touched me, which he said, “If I’m driving down the interstate and someone commits a crime, and I can pull that person over and- or I can let them go. If I pull them over and they flee or they attempt to in any way be threatening, I have to worry about baseless accusations that I was doing it for racis- racist motives,” which they weren’t. He has to worry about, uh, the person in any- any way coming at him. And we live in a world where a lot of police officers say, “You know what? I’m just gonna let this person go.”

Erick Erickson: -hmm (affirmative).

Jake Evans: And that has created the massive crime wave that we have throughout Georg- throughout Atlanta, uh, and it, it is bleeding throughout our communities, and we have to stop it. We’re a country based upon law and order, and if we let that be eroded, uh, then our whole community and the basis upon which this country is founded- founded will equally be eroded. We can’t let that happen.

Erick Erickson: Now, this district, how do you see redistricting shaping up? Because you- you, Meagan Hanson and the others who are, are jumping into this, you’re, you’re kind of flying blind in that you’ve got David Ralston saying, uh, they’re not even gonna start drawing the maps until frost is on the pumpkins, which means that maybe-

Jake Evans: Yeah.

Erick Erickson: … the end of October, probably beginning of November. And then you’ve got, what a primary that jumps out at you in March or, or May. Uh, so how do you see this shaping up?

Jake Evans:Mm-hmm (affirmative). And there is a lot of uncertainty, but I am in this race not for political opportunism. I’m not in this race, uh, in hopes that I’m gonna get an easy, uh, district. I’m in this race to deliver for the people in the sixth district, because the people of the sixth district demand and deserve good and proper representation that’s gonna deliver results, that’s gonna keep the sixth district, which is one of the best districts in the country, in my opinion, uh, that way. And if we don’t fight the liberal attack on America, the liberal attack on the values that made America the greatest country on earth, we’re gonna lose this fight. And I’m not gonna let that happen under my watch, uh, so I’m not gonna stand by. I’m gonna stand up and I’m gonna deliver for the people in the sixth district.

Erick Erickson: Jake, listen, uh, I appreciate you stopping by, and good luck to you on the campaign trail. Uh, you, you got a, a, it is a very odd district, right, and I don’t mean that in a pejorative way. It’s, it’s you got parts of DeKalb County, northern DeKalb, you’ve got northern Fulton, you’ve got the parts of Cobb and you’ve got, uh, what is it? Um, there, are there parts of Gwinnett in there? Is it just Fulton in there? It just, it’s, it’s, it’s a very-

Yeah.

… expansive compact district-

Mm-hmm (affirmative).

… but a bunch of people in it.

Erick Erickson: That’s right, yeah. You know, it’s east Cobb, uh, north Fulton and it goes into, uh, DeKalb. N- none of Gwinnett, but it, it is a very, very expansive district. And uh, you know, it’s a very diverse district, uh, for- from an economic, racial standpoint, but I, I’m honored for the opportunity to put myself forward and, and try to fight for the people of the sixth and deliver for them.

Well Jake, listen, thank you very much for stopping by, and best of luck to you out there. Um, i- yeah, I’m, I’m pulling up the map, but yeah it’s, it’s, the district, um, it runs, that portion of, for those of you familiar with this area of the state of Georgia, it, it runs on the border of Fulton and Gwinnett County there just north of Berkeley Lake and Duluth. Uh, it covers Milton, the cities of Milton and Alpharetta and Roswell, Mountain Park, uh, parts of Cobb County, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Doraville, uh, and it is right there, uh, around 285 on the north side of the city. There are gonna be a number of people who vie for this.

The complicating factor for all of these candidates is that redistricting hasn’t happened. Now, I, I’ve got some well placed sources in the legislature who tell me they’re still looking at some of the dynamics here because you’ve got, uh, the Supreme Court decision on voting rights that just came out, uh, and how do you shape up these districts, because you can’t dilute, uh, the minority districts. And the question is, do you draw the sixth and seventh in together and sacrifice it and make it a Democratic district, and then force McBath and Carolyn Bourdeaux to fight each other, or, uh, do you make the seventh more Democrat, racially diverse with Gwinnett County and DeKalb County and then make, uh, the sixth congressional district a little more white? It’s already a majority white. So that protects them, uh, there without any claims of racism. There are a lot of different ways the Republicans can look at this in the state of Georgia, and every state right now is having this.

Now, I bring up-

Georgia House commends well known race-baiting anti-enforcement activist, GALEO’s Jerry Gonzalez

April 8, 2021 By D.A. King

Obama nominee lost confirmation to federal judgeship due to ties to GALEO

GOP allows Democrat thespian Rep Park Cannon to use the House to reward leftists with official recognition and commendation

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

“California is going to become a Hispanic state and if anyone doesn’t like it they should leave. They ought to go back to Europe.” — Mario Guerra Obledo, co-founder of MALDEF, on the Tom Likus radio show, 1998

The 2021 Republican-controlled Georgia House passed a privileged resolution “recognizing and commending” Jerry Gonzalez. It’s a real head-shaker. And it is lazy lack of attention to official business and another example of timid and misplaced GOP trust in the deceitful Democrats.

Gonzalez is a former lobbyist for the above-mentioned MALDEF mob. He has been leader of Atlanta’s far-left and innocuously named Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials (GALEO) Corporation since 2003.

Privileged resolutions are passed as a group after the House Clerk reads part of each out loud if no member objects. This reading includes the name of the recipient. If no member objects to any part of the bundle presented they all pass. If there is objection, members can have the opportunity to vote on singular resolutions. Put another way, when the clerk read the words “recognizing and commending Jerry Gonzalez…” any house member could have spoken up when the Speaker asked if there were any objections to the adoption of the privileged resolutions…” Nobody did.

A shorter explanation of the process is that lawmakers vote “yes” by remaining silent. Part of this House legislative process can be seen here in a two-minute video.

Jerry Gonzalez. Photo: DIS files.

Jerry Gonzalez (Gerardo Eleazar Gonzalez) is widely known for his contempt for all things conservative and for marching in the streets of Atlanta demanding an end to immigration enforcement. He has proudly lobbied under the Gold Dome against voter ID, use of E-Verify, official English for government, honoring immigration holds in Georgia jails, and for personally escorting self-described illegal aliens into the Georgia Capitol.

In a classic example of why he is tagged “Angry Jerry” the Rome News reported on a 2015 experience diminutive state Rep Katie Dempsey had with Gonzalez when he was removed from an event for screaming at her for supporting immigration enforcement.

From the House Resolution commending and congratulating GALEO’s Jerry Gonzalez (HR 305):

“WHEREAS, Jerry’s significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with and unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness;…”

The House clerk’s office tells me the recipients of these resolution commendations receive a framed print of the entire document – “with a nice ribbon” for display on their walls.

You can see the happy press release crowing about the GOP-led Jerry Gonzalez resolution on the GALEO website.

Then – U.S. Senator David Perdue found Gonzalez and GALEO to be so radical that he stopped the 2016 confirmation process of a former GALEO board member, Dax Lopez, for federal judge because of the affiliation. We were proud to help with Sen Perdue’s education with a “Beginners guide to GALEO.”

Jerry Gonzalez was not the only race-baiting, Marxist radical who opposes additional vote security in Georgia to be recognized and congratulated by the Republican-ruled Georgia House (we haven’t checked the state senate).

Below is a short list of others we are aware of and their associations. Warning: Don’t let the misleading names of the leftist groups (see links) confuse you on their real agendas.

HR 252 – – Helen Ho –

Financial support from Coca-Cola and a lawsuit against Georgia’s election law

Jerry Gonzalez often posts expressions of gratitude to the Coca-Cola Co. for their long-standing financial support.

Photo: GALEO Facebook

Did we mention Jerry Gonzalez and GALEO are part of a lawsuit against the Georgia election security law, SB 202?

Here is Angry Jerry quoted in a “progressive” news report

“The intent of this new law was to discriminate against minority and poor voters in Georgia,” said GALEO chief executive officer Jerry Gonzalez. “Our communities will stand together to work against these Jim Crow tactics pushing to take our state backwards”.

How did these resolutions ever see the light of day? They were all introduced by a Democrat Representative you may have seen in ‘the news’ recently – Atlanta’s theatrical Park Cannon.

More on this little airhead another time, but readers need to know the level of admiration for her that comes from such erudite sources as MTV in their “Meet Park Cannon.”

Republican legislators should start paying more attention to the resolutions they pass. Voters should insist on it. Ask about the “Jerry Gonzalez Resolution.”

Illegal immigration: House committee to consider SB 107 and no-cost postsecondary education for foster care students – while Biden has borders open to UACs

March 16, 2021 By D.A. King

Biden’s border officials project 13,000 child migrants in May. Text and photo: Axios.

SB 107 is scheduled to be heard in the House Higher Education Committee tomorrow, March 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM. This is the same committee that passed out HB 120, the “lower tuition for illegal aliens than Americans” bill that has not yet seen a floor vote.

We suggest changes to SB 107.

Our antenna go up when we see an op-ed embedded in proposed law. SB 107 from Senator Brian Strickland and his cosponsors  is a prime example. Generally, the bill is aimed at providing no cost postsecondary education (*USG (urging language)& TCSG) to young people who have been adopted or are/were in foster care in Georgia. No tuition, no fees.

Here is a sample of the op-ed language in SB 107 – starting on line 15 (LC 49 0418S (SCS))

SECTION 1.

“Article 12 of Chapter 3 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to  postsecondary education grants for foster children and adopted children, is amended by repealing CodeSection20-3-660, relating to program of grants created, terms and conditions, applications, eligibility, duties of the Division of Family and Children Services, expenses and fees covered, and report by the Education Coordinating Council, and enacting a new Code  Section 20-3-660 to read as follows:

(a) It is the policy of the General Assembly that resources of this state should be committed to support benefits and positive outcomes for youth who age out of foster care.

A postsecondary education can benefit these youth, many of whom who have come from  places of great disadvantage; however, too few have been able to realize the benefit.

Therefore, the General Assembly establishes this program to support as many of these  youth as possible in realizing the benefits of postsecondary education. The General Assembly urges and recommends that the Board of Regents adopt substantially similar  tuition waiver programs for these youth to realize the benefits of postsecondary education in the University System of Georgia.”

End on line 30.

Georgia ranks number seven in states with its illegal alien population. We are home to more illegal aliens than Arizona – and more illegals than green card holders. We are an illegal alien destination because the state laws put in place to make us inhospitable to illegal immigration are largely ignored by the Republicans in power and because along with the Metro Atlanta Chamber, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce runs most policy decisions under the Gold Dome.

Many of whom are destined to become Georgia residents and likely under foster care, unaccompanied alien children (UACs) are streaming over the southern border as I type because the Democrats are essentially open borders radicals and are fortifying their future voter rolls. It is important to note that last year’s “children in cages” is now “temporary shelters for migrant children…” under Biden.

Here is a blurb from the WaPo on the swelling crisis that ‘isn’t a crisis:’

Washington Post

March 13, 2021

Biden will deploy FEMA to care for teenagers and children crossing border in record numbers

“The Biden administration is deploying the Federal Emergency Management Agency to the Mexican border to help care for thousands of unaccompanied migrant teens and children who are arriving in overwhelming numbers and being packed into detention cells and tent shelters, the Department of Homeland Security said Saturday evening.

The deployment marks another escalation in the administration’s response to the growing crisis at the border. It is part of what DHS said would be a 90-day government-wide effort at the border, where an unprecedented number of minors are arriving without their parents each day and must be sheltered and cared for until they can be placed with a vetted sponsor, usually a parent or relative already living in the United States.” Here.

Biden’s border crisis: 2021 on pace for more unaccompanied children than Trump’s four years combined

“2019 was the worst year on record for UACs (Unaccompanied Alien Children). At the pace that UACs are flooding across the border today, the Biden administration will blow that number out of the water. In fact, he’s on pace for TRIPLING the worst year ever.” Here

Already passed in the Republican-controlled senate, SB 107 is scheduled to be heard in the House Higher Education Committee Wednesday, March 17 (tomorrow). It can and should be improved and “illegal alien-proofed.” We have experienced and serious doubts that illegal immigration was any part of consideration in the senate. Senate vote record here.

While we do not claim to be experts on Family and Children’s Services, foster care or adoption, we do know about illegal immigration and that SB 107 is in urgent need of changes.

Fact: Most Georgians will take a dim view of a law that allows illegal aliens to attend post secondary education institutions at no cost while Americans and legal immigrants pay. SB 107 needs a belt and suspenders.

Our suggested changes to SB 107 – sent to some of the Republicans (including the Chairman) on the Higher Ed committee members below.

SB 107  Suggested changes LC 49 0418S (SCS)

Add sentence that goes something like:

“eligibility for benefits under this code section shall limited to students and applicants who are U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents as defined by the federal government and foreign nationals who have legal immigration status as determined by federal law…applicants who have deferred action on enforcement of U.S. immigration laws shall not be eligible to apply…”

More suggested changes:

* Line 38 should be changed to include “all of”

code section for each foster child or adopted child who meets all of the following requirements:

* Lines 59 & 60 look very muddy. Should read that student must qualify for FAFSA – not merely complete the application.

* Lines 58-64:

“5) The student completes a simplified application process established by the Division

of Family and Children Services, which shall include completion of the Free Application

for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine the level of need and eligibility for state  (It looks like illegal aliens d/n qualify for FAFSA, but the bill only says they must complete the FAFSA application – not be approved. Illegals could complete the app, and still receive no cost college?) and federal financial aid programs; provided, however, that a student who is presumptively eligible to participate in the waiver program shall be permitted to provisionally participate in the waiver program for a period of up to 30 days pending the student’s completion of the application process.”

* Starting on line 60, this language should be struck: to determine the level of need and eligibility for state

and federal financial aid programs; provided, however, that a student who is

presumptively eligible to participate in the waiver program shall be permitted to

provisionally participate in the waiver program for a period of up to 30 days pending the

student’s completion of the application process.

*Updated to explain what the urging language on USG.

D.A. King, 1 April 1952 – 5 March 2025

March 23, 2025 By Fred

We are sorry to inform you that D.A. King, President and founder of the Dustin Inman Society, has left us.

Donald (“D.A.”) Arthur King, 1 April 1952 – 5 March 2025.

D.A. King left this life and his work for the nation that he loved, confident that he has done his best. D.A. passed on peacefully after a private battle with cancer.

“Once a Marine, always a Marine” – D.A. was always visibly proud of his service and his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps (1970-1976).

D.A. described himself as “pro-enforcement” on immigration and borders, an issue on which he dedicated the last 21 years of his life as an expert activist, writer and public speaker.
